Jim Little
Managing Partner

Jim Little

Jim Little is a founding partner of NCP and has 25 years of hands-on experience managing and investing in entrepreneurial companies. Jim's most notable success was Complete Health Services with which he was involved from its start-up through its sale to UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH). Complete Health grew to be the largest independent health plan in the Southeast.

Jim has also invested in, and in many cases been actively involved in, over a dozen companies. These companies have created more than 1,400 jobs and provided significant returns to their shareholders. His entrepreneurial management and investment experience includes a number of successful companies in the healthcare and technology sectors. Jim currently serves on the Boards of Cogent Partners and Safe Harbour Underwriters. Jim was previously Chairman of the Board of former portfolio company HospiScript which sold to Catalyst Health Solutions (NASDAQ:CHSI)

Jim earned a BS in Engineering from Auburn University.


James Outland
Managing Partner

James Outland

James Outland is a founding partner of NCP and has 20 years of private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and business development leadership experience in both entrepreneurial business ventures and well-established corporations. Prior to co-founding New Capital Partners, James served in various key roles in the healthcare industry as an officer of UnitedHealth Group after its acquisition of Complete Health Services.

James currently serves portfolio companies as Chairman of the Board for Medsurant Holdings, as well as serving on the Board of Teladoc Medical Services. James also served as the CEO for Senior Whole Health during its first year of operations, in addition to his role as Chairman of the Board. James previously served as a Board Member of former portfolio company Awarix which sold to McKesson (NYSE:MCK), former portfolio company Senior Whole Health which sold to TA Associates and former portfolio company Prism Pointe Technologies which sold to Systems Maintenance Services, Inc. James was recognized as one of Birmingham's "Top 40 Under 40" in 2004 and served as the 2005 President of the Birmingham Venture Club.

James earned a BA in Political Science and a BFA in Advertising from Southern Methodist University.


Jack Sayler
Operating Partner

Jack Sayler

Jack Sayler formally joined NCP as an Operating Partner in 2009 after working with NCP's founders in a variety of roles since 1992. Most recently, Jack served on the senior management team as Vice President of Business Development for HospiScript, a former NCP portfolio company. He and his team were responsible for growing annual revenues from $20 million to $90 million in the three years prior to HospiScript's sale to Catalyst Health Solutions (NASDAQ:CHSI).

Jack's responsibility as Operating Partner is to build and professionalize the sales organizations of portfolio companies. In this pursuit, he draws on his rich experience of leading sales teams in a variety of organizations. Jack began his career at Allnet Communications where he turned around under-performing sales offices at the business-only long distance provider. Jack then joined Complete Health to build and run its sales organization until its sale to UnitedHealth Group in 1994. Jack spent the following 10 years, as founder or co-founder, in four successful startup entrepreneurial efforts. Today these companies generate over $500 million in combined annual revenues.

Jack earned a BS in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia.


Adam Cranford
Vice President

Adam Cranford

Adam Cranford joined NCP after completing his MBA at the University of Chicago. Before graduate school, Adam worked for Dollar General Corporation. During his time at the Fortune 500 retailer, Adam served as an Executive Group Analyst for the company's executive team and managed a national store restructuring project. In Adam's final year at DG, he supported the Kohlberg Kravis Roberts buyout of Dollar General as a Senior Manager.

Adam earned a BS in Management and MS in International Affairs from Georgia Tech. Additionally, Adam holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.


Seton Marshall
Vice President

Seton Marshall

Seton Marshall joined NCP after completing his MBA at the Darden Graduate School of Business. Prior to Darden, Seton was Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Eos Airlines. While with Eos, Seton ran the financial planning group and raised a private secondary offering for the airline. Prior to Eos, Seton was an Associate in the Restructuring Group of Lazard Ltd. During his time at Lazard, Seton worked on a range of complex restructuring and corporate finance transactions in both the New York and London offices.

Seton earned a BSE in Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University and an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.


Chris Wright
Business Development Team

Chris Wright

Chris Wright joined NCP after completing his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Prior to Booth, Chris was a Senior Associate at RSR Partners, a retained C-suite and board of director recruiting firm. There, he worked with companies of all sizes, from government backed start-ups to Fortune 10 corporations, recruiting executive and board talent as well as consulting on corporate governance issues. Although a generalist recruiter, Chris developed particular expertise in the clean tech, healthcare, and business services industries.

Chris earned a BA in History from Yale University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.


Lee Ashford Broughton
Transaction Team

Lee Ashford Broughton

Lee Ashford Broughton joined NCP after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining NCP fulltime, Lee Ashford was an intern at NCP and contributed to a variety of equity and structured finance transactions across a range of industries. Before NCP, she worked in numerous private wealth management and commercial banking roles.

Lee Ashford earned a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.


Ryan Berg
Transaction Team

Ryan Berg

Ryan Berg joined NCP in 2012 after completing his MBA at the Darden Graduate School of Business. While at Darden, Ryan spent his internship at Arcapita Inc., a global private equity firm, where he worked on M&A and refinancing transactions, as well as assisted in portfolio management activities. Prior to Darden, Ryan worked in the Strategic Planning group of First Wind, a wind energy portfolio company of Madison Dearborn and DE Shaw, where he was heavily involved in the firm's corporate capital raising efforts and development project evaluations. Prior to First Wind, Ryan was an Analyst in the Global Industrials Group of UBS Investment Bank, executing numerous M&A transactions, in addition to debt and equity financings.

Ryan earned a BS at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.


John Richmond
Transaction Team

John Richmond

John Richmond joined NCP after completing his MBA at the Darden Graduate School of Business. Prior to Darden, John was an Associate at Kohlberg & Company. While with Kohlberg, John worked on investments in the consumer product, industrial manufacturing, and packaging sectors. Prior to Kohlberg, John was an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance division of Merrill Lynch in New York. During his time at Merrill Lynch, John helped arrange debt financing to support acquisitions across a range of industries.

John earned a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.


Paul Pless
Finance Team/Vice President Finance

Paul Pless

Paul Pless joined NCP after working in the auditing practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for three years. As a Senior Accountant, Paul primarily served the Oil and Gas Industry, but also worked with Insurance, Investment Management, and Real Estate clients in PwC's Birmingham office. He was responsible for creating audit plans, managing staff accountants and engagement specialists, and performing tests of control and substantive auditing procedures.

Paul is a Certified Public Accountant and earned both a BA and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi.


Dana Levering
Finance Team/Chief Compliance Officer

Dana Levering

Dana Levering joined NCP in 2010, adding 20 years of operational accounting experience to the team. After graduating from the University of Alabama, she worked as an in-charge auditor for Price Waterhouse, Controller of a home-infusion therapy company and Director of Financial Accounting for a home health company. She then served on the senior management team as Corporate Controller of the startup company, Radiant Research for 13 years. She led an accounting department of fifteen individuals while Radiant became the largest clinical trials SMO in the country. Dana serves as NCP's Chief Compliance Officer under the Investment Advisor's Act of 1940.

Dana is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a B.S. in Accounting from the Culverhouse School of Accountancy at the University of Alabama.


Teresa Hayes
Finance Team

Teresa Hayes

Teresa Hayes joined NCP in 2011, after serving as Controller of Brighthouse Networks in Birmingham, Alabama. Teresa's previous experience includes corporate accounting as well as auditing. She has worked with a variety of companies including construction, cable, auditing and tax return preparation.

Teresa is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a B.S. in Accounting from Kennesaw State University in Georgia.


Jennifer Fisher
Executive Assistant

Jennifer Fisher

Jennifer Fisher joined the NCP team after interning for Haute Pink, an online magazine headquartered in Birmingham. During her internship, Jennifer executed a 100 outfit fashion show for the magazine's Fashion's Night Out event. While attending Wofford College, Jennifer served as her sorority's president for two consecutive terms, worked part time at Baehr Feet Shoe Boutique, and participated in several other organizations.

Jennifer earned a BS in Psychology and a BA in Art History from Wofford College.


John Bell

John Bell

John Bell is the Chief Executive Officer of FireRock, a portfolio company located in Birmingham, AL. John worked with NCP from 2005-2009. During his tenure at NCP, John worked with prospective and existing Fund I portfolio companies, assisted in raising Fund II, and managed the Firm's financial and accounting operations. Prior to joining NCP, John worked at Redmont Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Birmingham, AL. John began his career at Arthur Andersen in Atlanta.

John is a Certified Public Accountant and earned both his Masters and BS in Accounting from Auburn University.


Robert Gamble

Robert Gamble

Robert Gamble serves as Chief Executive Officer of Orthotics and Prosthetics of America, our portfolio company located in Houston, Texas. Previously, Robert served as President of HospiScript, a former NCP portfolio company. While at HospiScript, Robert also served as Vice President of Finance where as a key member of the Senior Management team, he had responsibility over finance, IT, and operations. Robert played a critical role in the growth of Hospiscript, which resulted in a greater than 40x return to equity investors upon sale of the company to Catalyst Health Solutions (NYSE: CHSI) in May of 2008. Robert stayed on under Catalyst ownership for 4 years, serving as President from 2009-2012, during which time earnings more than doubled. Prior to HospiScript, Robert worked with NCP assisting in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities with the intention of playing an active role in the management of a portfolio company. Prior to joining NCP, Robert founded RG Capital, an investment corporation seeking acquisition opportunities in small business. In addition, Robert worked at Sterne, Agee, and Leach in their capital markets group evaluating operations of public companies for stock recommendations and valuation of public and private businesses. Finally, Robert spent three years at AmSouth Bank as a plan analyst and accountant in their institutional trust division.

Robert received an MBA from The Darden School at The University of Virginia and a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University.


Will Matthews

Will Matthews

Will Matthews is Chief Financial Officer of our portfolio company National Bank of Commerce, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Will worked with NCP from 2009 to 2011, adding twenty years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing and investment management in privately-owned and publicly-traded companies to the NCP team.

Prior to NCP, Will served as EVP and CFO at Alabama National BanCorporation (and its predecessor companies) from 1991 through the company's sale in 2008 to RBC. During their tenure at Alabama National, the management team completed 18 acquisitions and grew the company from a privately-owned bank with $350 million in assets to a publicly traded entity with total assets of over $8 billion. Employment grew by over 1,500 associates during this time.

In addition to his CFO duties, Will had management responsibility for several operating divisions including the company's wealth management division, its fixed income investment division and its real estate capital markets division. He chaired the management risk oversight committee, the asset-liability committee and served on the boards of several subsidiary companies. In 2008, the management and board led the sale of the company to Royal Bank of Canada (NYSE: RY) for $1.6 billion. Subsequent to the sale, Will served as CFO for the $32 billion RBC Bank (USA) until he joined NCP.

Will earned an AB in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.


Alan Ritchie

Alan Ritchie

Alan Ritchie is President of New Capital Partners' portfolio company Return Mail Inc. (RMI) and is the CFO of New Capital Partners' portfolio company ComplyMD, LLC. Alan worked with NCP from 2001 to 2005 serving as a Managing Partner. In 2005, Alan left NCP to serve as the President of RMI. Alan has 25 years of executive, entrepreneurial management experience.

Alan began his career on Wall Street, working with Merrill Lynch in the Capital Markets division. These experiences led Alan to later serve as the Co-Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of four entrepreneurial start-ups, primarily in the software and healthcare industries. Alan served as the President of MACESS Corporation and as the Chief Executive Officer of Virtual Learning Technologies, Inc. Alan helped grow these companies to generate $75 million in combined annual revenues before being sold to the public.

Alan earned a BS degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Vanderbilt University's Owen School of Management.


Shannon Speir

Shannon Speir

Shannon G. Speir is President and owner of Speir Consulting, specializing in assisting entrepreneurial companies. Previously she was president and CEO of HospiScript Services, LLC, a pharmacy benefit manager for hospice and an NCP portfolio investment. During her tenure, HospiScript grew from a company with 40 employees and $20 million in annual revenue to over 200 employees and annual revenue of almost $100 million. Ms. Speir has also worked with New Capital Partners, managing the company's activities in Certified Capital Company (CAPCO) programs and serving as liaison for legal and regulatory affairs in working with NCP's legal firms and portfolio companies. She also serves on the boards of two New Capital Partners' portfolio companies. Ms. Speir has served in a number of executive roles including that of President and CEO in the financial, legal and healthcare industries, President and CEO of Advantage Health Plan in New Orleans, Louisiana, and principal and Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for Momentum Health Services. Ms. Speir began her career as a financial analyst in Public Finance with Merrill Lynch in New York and later led the product development efforts for Complete Health, the largest privately held HMO in the Southeast and Triton Health Systems, an HMO and physician management company.

Ms. Speir earned her JD from Cumberland School of Law where she was ranked second in her class while working full time. Ms. Speir also attended the University of Alabama Manderson Graduate School of Business where she was ranked number one in her class. Ms. Speir earned a BA cum laude in Economics from Newcomb College of Tulane University.


Bryan Wetta

Bryan Wetta

Bryan Wetta is the Vice President of Business Development of our portfolio company Hospice Partners of America, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Bryan worked with NCP from 2009 through 2011, after completing his MBA at the University of Chicago. Before graduate school, Bryan was a Managing Consultant in IBM's Global Business Services division for six years. Bryan worked closely with venture-backed software companies to develop, sell and implement innovative new products at the largest commercial banks in the United States.

Bryan earned a BBA in MIS and Finance at the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
