Of the five NCP Values, which is your favorite one? Why?
“Do the right thing. Always.” Integrity is one of my foundational values. “Do the hard right thing” is my personal motto.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
A few cherished colleagues and I built a business together from conception to reality, which within two years had generated revenues of over $100 million and won separate industry awards for safety, training and project excellence. I am proud of building a business of both worth and substance.
What fact about you might people be surprised to learn?
I was born prematurely, weighing 2 pounds, 11 ounces, and spent the first two months of my life in neonatal intensive care. My mother, an amateur bugler, had been asked to play at a local Independence Day celebration, which ultimately caused me to come early. Her friends remarked soon after my birth that they often bought bigger chickens at the market. The medical staff reported that I had a poor chance of living, but that if I did, I would be formidable!
