Of the five NCP Values, which is your favorite one? Why?

My favorite value is “Focus on excellence and get great results.”

To me, excellence takes on many forms – personal, professional, and otherwise. While these may not always be the same thing, by focusing on all aspects of excellence you are bound to achieve great results in whatever form that takes for you.

What are some words of wisdom you live by?

Thomas Jefferson said, “I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.”

In my opinion, there are few true overnight successes. Behind what appears to be overnight success is often years of hard work, trial and error, and failure. But the harder you work, the better chance you create for yourself to become that overnight success.

What fact about you might people be surprised to learn?

I graduated from William & Mary with a minor in Chinese Language and Literature and spent two weeks in China traveling from Beijing to Xi’an to Chongqing and up the Yangtze River to Shanghai. It was an incredible experience that inspired me to study the language and culture in college.
